The foundation of EWS dates back to 1960. Our current core competencies are in the area of tool systems for CNC turning machines (static and power-driven tools), expanding to tool turrets and revolver support systems with EWS Korea. The modern profile of the EWS Group is characterised by the individual talents of the more than 300 people that work for the Group. EWS products are "made in Germany". Our specialist expertise is demonstrated by our systems partnerships with DMG-Mori Seiki (Trifix and MSQP), INDEX (W interlocking and V strip), Sandvik (EWS Capto), Iscar and Arno (tool carrier systems). With our EWS Varia quick-change system (modular system, often incorrectly designated as Vario), our company is setting new benchmarks in optimising tool setup times. This system was awarded the Innovation Award from the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The much longer service life of our tools contributes to saving resources and protecting the environment. Our family-managed company, which was founded in 1985 and is based in Iserlohn in the Sauerland region of western Germany, currently employs 30 people on a two-shift system. Apart from the thermotechnical and galvanic processes, we carry out all work steps related to metal and plastic within our company. Our strengths not only lie in mass-producing screwdriving tools but also in developing and manufacturing special products – particularly in the steadily growing market of actuating and unlocking tools. Dieter and Silvi Hemstedt founded their own company with the aim of manufacturing high-quality, specialised heating elements. It was a worthwhile endeavour: A few years later, a total of 20 employees were already working for the company, and sales and space requirements rapidly increased. The product range grew just as fast. Refrigeration technology came along and more and more customers demanded specialised solutions that Hemstedt could implement quickly and precisely. It was this flexibility and high quality that rapidly raised Hemstedt's profile all around the world. More and more frequently, deliveries from the Swabian production site travelled to China, the USA, Russia and many other countries. Today, more than 60 people work in development and manufacturing across a production space of 17, 500 square metres. Therefore, the company today particularly champions the development and manufacturing of energy-efficient heating systems and holistic concepts. These play a significant role in creating production facilities that are not simply climate-neutral, but actually make a positive overall contribution to the environment.
